Counselling

Welcome to my website. I am a qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and have been in practice for over ten years.

My aim is to offer you professional psychological support in a dependable, calm and confidential environment, where you will have an opportunity to explore your feelings and to understand yourself and your life from a different perspective. I have supported clients with a variety of issues over the years. These include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, abuse, bullying, child-related issues, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, cancer, stress and trauma.

The aim is reduce confusion and to enable you to make informed choices, manage challenges, or to make positive changes. The process involves making connections and then identifying what changes can be made in your life. Therapy also encourages you to recognise and consider what cannot be changed.  I use various interventions including person-centred therapy, CBT and Psychodynamic therapy.

Many people are nervous at the prospect of coming to counselling, especially if it is for the first time, so the first appointment provides us with an opportunity to discuss your reasons for coming and to consider the best way forward. It's your chance to get to know me a little, and for me to get to know you too, and then to decide if you would like to carry on counselling.

I am a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am a graduate member of the BPS (The British Psychological Society).

Covid Update, May 2021

I offer counselling via various means. Most sessions are currently via zoom or telephone, but there are a few face-to-face appointments available. Please let me know how you would prefer your sessions to take place and I will try my best to accommodate your wishes.  I use email to send contracts and links and appointment times. When appointments are on zoom, I will send you an invitation to our meeting via email on the morning of your appointment.
